Frequently asked questions

Before we start

What’s the difference between mixing and mastering?

Mixing works on each element separately. Mastering works on the final stereo mix and prepares it for distribution.

How much headroom do I need?

The key is avoiding clipping and heavy limiting. I can check the file before we start.

Can I change the mix afterwards?

It’s best to approve it first. If a change comes up, send a new, clearly labeled version.

Will the master be ready for Spotify?

Yes. It’s prepared for the agreed destination, and you also keep a high-quality version.
